Chris Vasami | Mental Fitness & Resilience Expert

Turn adversity into identity.

I help leaders, professionals, teams and student-athletes own their story — not just the wins, but the setbacks too — and use it all to fuel real, lasting growth.

A man with a beard and short mohawk hairstyle wearing a black and white checkered button-up shirt stands against a dark background.
White bold text on a dark background reads: "REAL TALK. REAL GROWTH." in a distressed, textured font.
The image features the phrase "REAL TALK. REAL GROWTH." in large, bold, light-colored letters on a light background.

I give the kind of talks your audience won't forget.

An interviewer once asked me:

“There are speakers who are cancer survivors. Speakers who played pro baseball. Speakers who coach performance. What makes you different?”

I didn't hesitate.

"I'm all three."

Meet Chris

I’m a former pro ballplayer, a cancer survivor, a coach, a husband, and a dad — and every one of those roles shows up in the way I speak, teach, and lead.

I started my first business when I was 20, and I’ve spent the last 15+ years building it from the ground up. Through Vasami Training and the Vasami Method, I’ve worked with thousands of players — not just to help them hit harder or throw faster, but to help them figure out who they are when the game gets tough. Because it always gets tough.

Here’s the deal: I don’t just care about performance. I care about people.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. And that moment forced me to stop waiting on “someday.” I started showing up differently — for myself, my business, my family, and eventually, from the stage. That experience didn’t just change my life. It gave me a voice that actually means something.

Now, I speak to leaders, associations, companies, teams, and athletes about adversity, identity, and mindset — not from a textbook, but from lived experience. I help people move from pressure to purpose. From feeling stuck to stepping into ownership.

And when I’m not doing that, I’m probably working out, chasing my daughters around the backyard, or at home with my wife Paige here in Charlotte. I read a lot. I love to travel. And I’m big on celebrating the small wins — because they stack into something great.
